  • Our UX Research team experienced significant growth over a few years, so we expanded our collection of research tools. With so many tools with varying capabilities constantly changing, two colleagues and I identified a need to organize this information.

    We had the support of our leader to solve problems before they were assigned to us, so we founded the Tools Committee. We documented what we knew about every tool our team had access to and organized it in a shared workspace. Thus, creating the Research Tools Database

    We then met monthly to review the information, maintain its accuracy, and add anything other team members may have asked.

    Working on this committee led me to discover my passion for operations. I love hunting down information and organizing it, particularly when it will benefit others in their work.

  • All researchers have used the database to assist in tool selection for research efforts. Leadership has also used the database when onboarding new employees and revisiting vendor contracts.

    This committee developed organically to create the research tools database. We worked on it for over a year before we handed it over to the newly established operations team, who were incredibly thankful for our efforts.
