A colleague and I worked with a design team responsible for the experience of our company’s members. To conduct research with these members, we attempted to recruit them using traditional methods, but we couldn’t get enough, and each recruit was expensive. Using our company's resources, we opted for a grassroots effort to start our participant pool.  

Research Coordinator

• Partnered with other departments across the organization to obtain member contact information

• Authored recruitment emails and maintained correspondence 

• Managed the distribution of gratuity payments for participants

• Maintained records of invitations, communications, engagement, participation, and payments

The effort was a huge success! We now had our primary users on deck whenever we were ready to research one of our membership experiences. We saved money by not using a vendor, and we got the unique opportunity to talk to our actual target users.
